A little bit to another bit, adds up to quite a bit

Big things to achieve, doesn't need so much wit
A little bit to another bit, adds up to quite a bit

How lovely Rome is, and it wasn't built in a day
A continuous work in progress, a never ending play
How magnificent, august and tall it now stands
Centuries after two people started it with their own hands

How can one build the pyramids, I just can't imagine
People had such patience, only in days that had been
Its tough I agree, and a good excuse to go back to sleep
But won’t you get closer, with every stone you keep

The journey can turn out being a futile and frustrating fight
A long and lonely way, with the end nowhere in sight
It’s tough I agree, and it isn't solved by talking
But won’t you get closer, if you get up and start walking

So you see, big things to achieve, doesn't need so much wit
A little bit to another bit, adds up to quite a bit!!

But won’t you get closer, if you get up and start walking...ofcourse you would, but what if after reaching the end you realize that you have no choice but to begin again. How many times can one start all over again to reach nowhere, but to start again? What are you getting closer to..

Hmmm, good question :)

I had written this in a completely different context, but its nice to read it in a different way

The thing that you are talking about, has already started and would never finish, that is until its time has come. So its more about the journey than the destination.
